Terms of Service

Last updated: May 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SaferSheets (the "Service") operated by SaferSheets Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By signing in or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

SaferSheets is a spreadsheet auditing platform that analyses files you upload and produces findings, scores, and optionally corrected copies. We provide the Service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at security@safersheets.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Upload content you don't have the right to process (e.g. someone else's confidential workbook without permission).
  • Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically download our analyser pipeline or detection rules.
  • Use automated scripts to bypass per-tier upload limits or rate caps.
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a separate written agreement.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section. We'll usually warn first.

4. Your content

The files you upload, and the findings derived from them, remain yours. By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to process the file for the purpose of running the tool you invoked — and nothing else. We do not use your content to train models or improve other users' results.

5. Pricing and billing

During beta, all tiers are free. When paid plans launch, you'll get advance notice and the chance to opt into a paid plan or stay on the Free tier (with its retention and quota limits).

Paid subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. Refunds are handled case-by-case; email billing@safersheets.com.

Taxes (VAT, sales tax) are added at checkout where applicable.

6. Service availability

We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime but do not currently offer a formal SLA. Paid tiers may include an availability commitment in a separate agreement.

Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in advance. Emergency maintenance may happen without notice.

7. Findings are advisory

SaferSheets findings are produced by automated analysis and are advisory. You remain responsible for deciding which findings to accept, reject, or escalate. Nothing in the Service constitutes accounting, financial, or legal advice. Always review changes before sharing a corrected file with a client, regulator, or board.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its detection rules, scoring models, UI, and brand assets, is owned by SaferSheets Ltd. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The limited rights you have to use the Service are described in these Terms — no other rights are granted.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We can terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms or for legal/security reasons. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; data deletion follows the timeline in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR WILL CATCH EVERY ERROR IN YOUR SPREADSHEET. NO HEURISTIC TOOL CAN GUARANTEE A 100% CATCH RATE — TREAT FINDINGS AS HIGH-VALUE LEADS, NOT FINAL TRUTH.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is $0 during beta). We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be emailed to you at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute that can't be resolved by direct conversation will go to the courts of Dublin, Ireland.
